Historical & Culture Facts About Sorrento

Sorrento, an ancient inhabitation had Greeks, Etruscans and Oscans living here before the Romans colonized it around the 1st century B.C. It became a valued holiday resort during the Roman Era when nobility chose it as a retreat. Ancient Roman ruins are still visible in the region.
